Casino bill introduced in Kentucky Legislature - 2004-02-27
Two bills calling for a constitutional amendment to permit casino gambling in Kentucky, including at five racetracks and four nonracetrack venues, were
filed in both the state House of Representative and Senate on Friday.
House Speaker Pro Tem Larry Clark (D-Louisville), filed the House bill, and a companion bill was filed by state Senator David Boswell (D-Owensboro).
The measure includes language to create the Kentucky Gaming Commission to oversee the casino-style gambling, which would be allowed at Churchill Downs, either Keeneland Race Course or The Red Mile harness track in Lexington, Turfway Park, Kentucky Downs, and Thunder Ridge harness track.
