U.S. football fans flooded Las Vegas and bet big over the weekend despite few big-screen viewings of the game, casino operators said Monday.

A number of Las Vegas Strip resorts said they pulled down oversized screens, scrapped admission charges or made both changes after the National Football League objected to some of their party plans for the game, the most popular U.S. television event of the year.
