Gurpreet S. Oberoi, 26, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Manhattan state Supreme Court in the death of 26-year-old Peter Hornbeck. Oberoi also has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. If convicted of the top charges, he faces a maximum of four years in prison.

At a speed of anywhere between 50 and 100 miles per hour, Oberoi drove his father's 1999 Chevrolet Suburban north on Park Avenue in the late evening hours of Jan. 10, prosecutors said.
