De Colores Shelter highlight of fund-raiser - 2004-02-04
The domestic violence shelter that provides a safe place to monolingual Spanish-speaking victims will hold its annual fund-raiser to assist its emergency crisis and transitional shelters.

Attendees will enjoy Las Vegas-style blackjack and craps with "funny money," which they can use to propose on donated items at the auction, such as a visit to Mardi Gras shows at Las Vegas' Riviera Hotel and Casino.

Casino supporters spend more than enough - 2004-02-04
The group campaigning defending a casino at the DeJope bingo hall was granted $935,000 from the Ho- Chunk Nation and spent $244,360 on direct mail materials, advertising and opinion research, according to its state campaign finance report.

A vote on Feb. 17 will question Dane County voters whether they support adding such games as craps and blackjack to the offerings at DeJope, which is found off the Interstate in southeast Madison.
