Narragansett Indians disclose $450 million casino project - 2004-02-04
The Narragansett Indian Tribe on Wednesday disclosed plans for a $450 million resort casino it says would generate thousands of jobs and produce over $100 million in revenue for the state each year.

The casino proposal arrives just as state legislators ready to wrestle with a looming budget deficit calculated at $190 million.
He said the state now accumulates about $220 million Lincoln Park and Newport Grand, which also has video slots.

Rosecroft offer for slots endangered by sale disputes - 2004-02-04
Pending lawsuits and ownership indecisiveness are threatening Rosecroft Raceway's opportunities of being a part of a plan to legalize slot machines in Maryland, leading Prince George's County legislators say.

In chosing Ricigliano, Rosecroft spurned Carl M. Jones, a prominent African-American Prince George's County businessman, and Centaur Inc., an Indianapolis casino company, both of whom wanted to purchase the track and reap the advantages of expanded gambling.
