Penn National releases more details about license bid - 2004-02-05
A Pennsylvania-based gaming company revealed more details about its offer for Illinois' last remaining casino license as industry analysts cautioned the deal might not be as good for the state as it first appeared.
The proposal by Penn National Gaming Inc. was expected to be one of seven bids discussed at a Thursday meeting of the Illinois Gaming Board in Chicago, Chairman Elzie Higginbottom said.
"Each proposal has pluses and minuses, and each proposal has things that may come in conflict with" state gaming law, Higginbottom said. The board planned to cut the bids down to three candidates by Feb. 23, he said.
