Chamber Throws Support Behind Racetrack, Casino Plans - 2004-02-05
Two gambling-related developments in Romulus have an additional booster. The Southern Wayne County Regional Chamber adopted a resolution last week supporting plans to open a thoroughbred racetrack and casino/convention center in the city.
The resolution hailed the developments' potential to enhance the region near Detroit Metropolitan Airport, as well as Downriver, as a tourism and business destination.
"This could be a real unique opportunity for the region," chamber President Edward Clemente said.
