At least $151 million in new economic activity.
Almost $25 million in state and local taxes generated.
That's the potential economic impact of a Black Hawk County riverboat casino, according to a study commissioned and published Thursday by the Iowa Association of Business and Industry.
Of the five counties that have passed referendums and one where a vote is pending, Black Hawk County's proposed facility would by far have the greatest impact. Worth County's proposed complex could generate 800 jobs and $65 million in economic activity.
