Direct talks OKd for Orange Co. casino - 2004-02-07
State gaming regulators will give Orange County officials three weeks this spring to negotiate directly with four companies fighting for the state's last remaining casino license.

The Indiana Gaming Commission announced plans Friday to lift its prohibition on direct negotiations with prospective casino operators for a short term. That would permit members of a local commission to discuss job projections, development plans and other items that may be key to winning the casino license designated for the French Lick area.

R.I. to discuss Jumer’s casino project Monday - 2004-02-07
The Rock Island City Council will consider a development agreement between the city and Jumer’s for the proposed Casino Rock Island project at its study session Monday.

Jumer’s plans to open a $90 million casino project on 110 acres near Illinois 92 and Interstate 280 in Rock Island County. The site would be annexed by the city.

The proposed casino project is expected to generate millions in gaming and property tax revenues for the city.
