Oller, others urge governor to pass on casino - 2004-02-07
About 33 people spoke and submitted written comment about the effects - mainly negative - a proposed Indian casino could have on Plymouth and surrounding areas during an environmental scoping meeting hosted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) Wednesday in Plymouth.
Most chairs were filled in the Spur Emporium Building at the Amador County Fairgrounds and people from all walks of life attended and spoke. Among them were a local veterinarian, the county district attorney, a county supervisor, a probation officer, senior citizens and a spokesman for State Senator Rico Oller, (R) District 1.
