Poker players head to Pendleton-area casino for high-stakes tournament - 2004-03-12
Poker players from across the country have come to a casino in the Pendleton area this week, for the country's biggest poker tournament north of Las Vegas.

Players say huge pots and a friendly host city have made the tournament at the Wildhorse Resort and Casino one of their favorites.

"I love Pendleton," said Clonie Gowen, the women's champion on the World Poker Tour, whose husband watches over their young son while she plays.

Singapore eyes casino-resort complex - 2004-03-12
Singapore is planning to develop an offshore luxury residential resort which might also have a casino to attract high-rollers and rich property buyers, a minister stated.

Trade and Industry Minister George Yeo said Sentosa, a beach and golf islet linked by a causeway to mainland Singapore, would be connected by bridges or boat services to other islets in a 500-hectare (1,235-acre) development.

"We are keeping an open mind on what to have in this development, including the possibility of having a casino," the Business Times quoted Yeo as saying Friday during a parliamentary debate on the budget.
