Eight accused in fraud scam at Gary casino - 2004-03-13
Four employees at Gary's Trump Casino have been charged in addition to four other people with taking up to $75,000 from the casino by influencing a promotion over a two-year period.

While Trump staff members and their families are not eligible for the promotion, authorities reported one worker's mother was credited with bringing nearly 800 new players to the casino between April 2002 and November 2003.

Harrah's Casino appoints lobbyist who is employed in tourism agency - 2004-03-13
The chief lobbyist for a Rhode Island tourism organization at the state Legislature is also on the payroll of the casino operator that has partnered with the Narragansett Indian tribe to get legislative authorization to construct a casino in West Warwick.

While the organization opposes the casino, its executive committee gave Goldman consent to take the Harrah's job, on condition that he remove himself from any situations where there could be a conflict of interest, The Providence Journal reported.
