Well, at least the bumpers, roll cages and kill switches were in operation right. Not much else appeared to.

They commenced at sunrise at the Slash X Ranch and Cafe, just outside Barstow, and were supposed to drive in a big loop around the region, cross Interstate 40, cruise through rugged desert terrain, drive under Interstate 15, dash across a dry lake bed, and zoom past the checkered flag outside Buffalo Bill's Casino just past the Nevada state line.

Casino advocates commence looking to 2005 - 2004-03-14
The push to extend gambling in Kentucky will have to wait until at least next year after a bid to make casinos legal appeared to die in the General Assembly last week.

A scheduled House committee vote was abandoned on Wednesday, when Clark claimed the legislative package was not likely to enhance this session. The package featured a proposed constitutional amendment and a measure detailing the casino project.
