Nugget partners make it formal - 2004-03-17
Entrepreneurs Tim Poster and Tom Breitling formally commemorated their ownership of the respected Golden Nugget earlier this month by presenting a grand celebration weekend and their first fundraiser.

Poster is intending to approach gambling from a customer's perspective and is attempting to make changes players would like. They have already loosened up the casino. "A very positive change already, more than we expected," Poster claims of the change.

Harrah's Horseshoe agreement is rescued at last -- yet again - 2004-03-17
The three-way agreement to sell the shut down Binion's Horseshoe Casino and Hotel was finalized last week despite an 11th hour proposal to buy some of the land on which the downtown casino sits. That offer nearly wrecked the painstaking arrangement.

O'Donnell's offering was a mere $5,000 above the price offered by West Virginia-based casino operator MTR Gaming Group to purchase the land, but the last minute tender met the minimum legal requirements, thereby potentially scuttling the complex multi-million dollar settlement to reopen the Horseshoe and save roughly 900 jobs.
