A Beaver County legislator has disclosed some potential new wrinkles for Western Pennsylvania in the ongoing deliberation over whether the state should make slot machines legal to reduce property taxes.

State Rep. Mike Veon, a Democratic official in the effort to develop gambling, stated yesterday that he and other legislators envision three slot machine venues in the Pittsburgh area. However, all three could end up at horse racing tracks rather than having a casino in Downtown Pittsburgh, as Gov. Ed Rendell formerly outlined.

Pagcor debuts online casino - 2004-03-18
The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. will debut next week its internet casino, ABS-CBN News learned Friday.
Pagcor, whose casinos, slot machine arcades and bingo halls rake in $2 billion a year, said it had given authorization to Internet service provider PhilWeb Inc. to run its Internet casino.

Reports stated Pagcor, the government's largest source of funds other than taxes, will maintain half of the winnings gathered by the country's first online casino.
