Casino in downtown Shawnee? - 2004-03-02
Downtown Shawnee could turn into the next destination for casino-goers. If the city commission approves a proposal to sell a large vacant property to the Sac & Fox Nation, downtown Shawnee just may receive the boost it needs.

The building, formerly occupied by Sears up until the mid-1980s, reportedly sold to the city for $1 when the department store relocated to the Shawnee Mall. If all goes well, Sac & Fox Nation could be opening a casino there in as little as 9 months.

'Casino' Leads FOX's Summer Slate - 2004-03-02
Mark Burnett's constantly developing TV empire will expand to FOX this summer with an unscripted show called "The Casino."

The series, chronicling the inner workings of the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in downtown Las Vegas, will debut June 8, FOX Entertainment head Gail Berman announced Tuesday (March 2). It's one of several shows Berman hopes to launch this summer.
