Casino launches 'fun' campaign - 2004-03-20
Harrah's Council Bluffs Casino & Hotel has initiated a new positioning campaign named "The Fun Starts Here."

"Our past positioning of 'Maximum Action, Ultimate Thrills' has served Harrah's Council Bluffs well since January 2003, but recently both our guests and our team members have said that they want more," said Pete Weien, senior vice president and general manager at the property. "They want to party, celebrate and have fun, and that's just what we are going to do with 'The Fun Starts Here' campaign."

House Speaker Would Allow Voters To Decide On Casino - 2004-03-20
House Speaker William Murphy stated he supports placing a casino initiative on the ballot in November.

The West Warwick lawmaker tells The Providence Journal the House he expects that the House will vote on the issue in the next several weeks.

The Narragansett Indian tribe wants to put a casino in West Warwick and has partnered with Harrah's Entertainment to do that.

However, the initiative requires voter approval.
