Group reveals plans to give downtown Weston a facelift - 2004-03-23
City officials got their first comprehensive view Monday at a plan to revive downtown Weston.
The complex plans also ask for a 12,000-seat exhibition hall, 3,500-seat theater and a casino. One obstacle for the gambling center, however, has been put up by the Lewis County Commission.
"The bottom line is to unboard Main Street," he explained. "Even without the casino, we're looking at 500 jobs at the resort to start and that will bring in businesses on Main Street. It's a domino effect."
