Track CEO adamant about share of casino returns - 2004-03-23
Lowering or omitting the racetracks' share of future returns from the state's 10th casino license risks killing horse racing in Illinois, Arlington Park's CEO stated.
"It puts us in an area that is unknown, but is bad," Cliff Goodrich commented Monday. "We just don't know to what degree."
"That would clearly be our preference in all honesty," he explained. "When you look around the country and see casinos near racetracks, unless the racetracks are allowed slots, they don't do well."
