Boat drowns, diesel fuel in Back Bay - 2004-03-28
Saturday's 700-gallon diesel spill in the Back Bay is one of multiple spills on the Coast in the past months. Others:

February 2004: 2,000 gallons of diesel seeped out from a sunken vessel into the Mississippi Sound south of Grand Casino Gulfport.

November 2003: 400 gallons of diesel seeped out from a sunken boat into Back Bay close to Boomtown Casino.

For the past 20 years, the typical Atlantic City gambler has been a woman, roughly 55 years old, who drove to the resort a few times a month. There she sat for hours, by herself, placing quarter after quarter into the slots.

Just a few years ago, casinos had all but written off table games. They were for old men. They were costly to run. And they weren't for a generation raised on video games.
