Body found beside lake identified - 2004-03-03
A body that washed up on the shore of Lake Pontchartrain in Kenner a month ago was identified by investigators as that of a 77-year-old Harahan woman who shot herself in the head.

A passer-by found Jane Everett's body behind the Treasure Chest casino Feb. 22, said Capt. Steve Caraway, Kenner police spokesman. She committed suicide, he said. Notes recovered by Harahan and Kenner police from her house and from a brother in Florida indicate her health had been failing and implied she was going to kill herself, Caraway said.

Fort McDowell Casino offering Wild West fun - 2004-03-03
Visitors to Fort McDowell Casino are doing more than just gambling. When not moving on the dance floor to the music of Ken Willis and his band the AirZona, people get to learn how to rope a cow, toss a tomahawk or participate in other cowboy games.

The Fort McDowell Wild West Adventures presented by Fort McDowell Casino is the latest tourist draw in the northeast Valley.

For $30, people get a chance to be "cowboys and cowgirls for a of couple hours," said Rick Cibik, Wild West Adventures general manager.
