Johnson to defend WBO super flyweight title - 2004-03-04
WBO super flyweight champ Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson will defend his title against top-ranked challenger Luis Bolano on Saturday night.
The card at Foxwoods Resort Casino also will feature a rematch between previous champions Joel "El Cepillo" Casamayor and Diego "Chico" Corrales, who will fight for the vacant WBO 130-pound title abandoned recently by Acelino Freitas.
Johnson, (42-3, 27 KOs), of Washington, won the 115-pound title from Fernando Montiel in a 12-round decision Aug. 16. Bolano (38-0, 28 KOs), hails from Cordoba, Colombia, where he won his first 33 fights and became the Colombian super flyweight champion.
