Pair Hopes School Launches Mighty La. Poker League - 2004-03-05 Chris Moneymaker went from Internet poker player
to champion last year, coming out of nowhere to win the $2.5 million World Series of Poker. Though there isn't a casino poker room in Baton Rouge, the founders of Mighty River Poker School believe there
may be a handful of Moneymakers in the city.
Veteran poker players Les Davidson and Paul Dutsch launched the school, with visions of forming a statewide poker league. To bring people in, they played host to three, two-hour poker seminars at Airline Highway Days Inn on February 28. Read the full story at PokerMag.com |

Planned Casino Resort Has 3,000 Slots, 500 Rooms - 2004-03-05 The $600-million casino proposed by the Narragansett Indian Tribe would be superlative, according to new renderings and figures from the tribe's financial supporter, Harrah's Entertainment.
There would be roughly 3,000 slot machines, more than at Lincoln Park or Newport Grand, in addition to 150 table games.
