Missouri Town Closer To Floating Casino - 2004-03-06 This humble town in eastern Taney County is one step closer to becoming the home of a floating casino. Opposers still hope to halt the project in its tracks, however.
Supporters of the proposed casino on Lake Taneycomo submitted more than 190,000 petition signatures to the Missouri Secretary of State on Wednesday. The petitions ask for a statewide election in November that would amend the Missouri Constitution to allow a casino in Rockaway Beach.
