Let The People Decide Fate Of In West Warwick Casino - 2004-03-06 Now that we're nearing the home stretch in deciding the future of the Narragansett Indian casino in West Warwick, we are all holding our breath to see the outcome.
Sometime over the next couple of months we'll see some sort of legislation passed to put the casino question on the ballot. We'll aslo, more than likely, see the governor veto said legislation.
The big question, then, is whether or not there are enough votes in the House and Senate to override the veto. And even if it's overridden, will there be enough support from the people at large on the November referendum. Read the full story at GamblingMagazine.com |

Casino Bill Advances - 2004-03-06 The St. Regis Mohawks are coming closer to legitimizing their northern New York casino. A new proposal for the state Legislature to approve the tribe's reservation-based casino in Franklin County is making its way through the Senate and Assembly
and might be voted on by next week, officials said.
