Nevada Megabucks hit at the Palms Casino midday Sunday, the fourth jackpot on the statewide linked progressive slot system in the last six months. The winner, Beverlee Groves of Albuquerque, N.M., had never before played Megabucks when she won $8,065,000 on the 3-coin dollar game.

"I still have goose bumps," she said. "I found a dollar at the airport and said at the time that it was a lucky sign. I just never guessed how lucky!"

Tribe Looks At Madera For Casino - 2004-03-07
The North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians is joining
forces with a Las Vegas gaming company to bring another casino-resort to Madera County within the next three years.

The tribe is considering two locations for a $225 million gaming complex, both along Highway 99 just north of Madera.

That would mean another huge casino joining an increasingly crowded market in the San Joaquin Valley, with seven casinos between Porterville and Sonora and another proposed two weeks ago for near Auberry.
