Tribe buys land to build casino near Shullsburg - 2004-03-08 The Lac du Flambeau band of Chippewa, hoping it will get the needed approvals, said Monday that it purchased 92.7 acres to construct a casino resort just west of Shullsburg.
The tribe paid James and Pam Paquette about $320,000 for the land along Highway 11 just west of the city of 1,200 in Lafayette County, said the tribe's lawyer, Carol Brown.
