Vendors pull in chips with new casino - 2004-03-08 While almost 6,000 people lined up for jobs at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino job fair in Hollywood last week, hundreds of local businesses are also expected to gain from work anted up at the 100-acre complex.

Casinos hit with $700,000 tax bill - 2004-03-08 The state Department of Revenue has filed tax warrants summing up to at least $700,000 against a group of affiliated casino companies, but the companies say their actual liabilities are not even a tenth of that.
The businesses are owned by Washington Gaming Inc., which is mostly owned by brothers Tim and Mike Iszley. Tim Iszley was a leading member of the Entertainment Industry Coalition, which last year lobbied unsuccessfully to allow slot machines in nontribal casinos.
