In an effort to help a local children's advocacy center and the city's police officers, the Shreveport Police Officers Association will host a policemen's ball May 1.
Tickets to the black-tie event, which starts at 6 p.m.
at Harrah's Casino Magnolia Ball Room, cost $100 per person or $900 for a table that seats 10 people,
said Patrick McConnell, association secretary.
"The Gingerbread House gives to us so much that we wanted to return the favor," McConnell said, adding that part of the proceeds from the event will benefit the center.
