Aussie casino proprietor wants IPO - 2004-04-01
A Malaysian-backed Australian gaming company, Lasseters International Holdings Ltd., looks prepared to survive intense examination by Singapore to emerging as the city-state's first casino operator to stage an initial public offering.
Lasseters, with its 22-year history of running a casino firm in Alice Springs, in Australia's Northern Territory, is seen more likely than Cambodian rival NagaCorp Ltd., supported by the Cambodian government and Malaysian investors, to have its IPO authorized.
