Thomas Weisel Advance Boyd Gaming to Outshine - 2004-04-02
Thomas Weisel upgraded Boyd Gaming (BYD ) to outshine from peer perform.
Fuller notes he downgraded in July, 2003 with soft start-up margins at Atlantic City casino Borgata.

Margins beat calculations in the fourth quarter of 2003, and should ramp towards 25% this quarter. Fuller also mentions several casino ventures in the works, including Delta Downs, Blue Chip, Orleans, and Southcoast.

Band casino owner seeks liquor license for hotel - 2004-04-02
The Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, which obtained a liquor license for its new casino restaurant despite opposition from some residents, seeks to sell booze at its new hotel.

The application for a second liquor license was filed with the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, commencing a process intended to get faster action, because of the groundwork laid for the casino's Willows Restaurant bid.
