Police, KBI Shut Down Casino - 2004-04-02
Law enforcement officials shut down a tribal-owned casino in the city's downtown Friday morning, and started to remove over 150 gambling machines.

Although state and local officials asked the tribe to abide with the commission's decision and voluntarily shut down the casino, Kline's office stated in a news release the casino remained open for business until Friday morning.

Tribe's agenda for bingo hall remains uncertain - 2004-04-02
A plan by the Passamaquoddy Tribe to establish a high-stakes bingo hall in Washington County found itself in limbo this week, facing opposition from the tribe's ex-gaming partner, the Penobscot Nation.

Even the tribe's controversial effort with the Penobscot to launch a $650 million casino in southern Maine won authorization in Calais, one of only a handful of communities to support the project.
