Foes of a casino proposed next to Rohnert Park voiced optimism Friday that they will prevail in their legal fight, despite a Sonoma County judge's decision Friday against them.

Casino foes promised to appeal the judge's decision disregarding their lawsuit. The lawsuit was brought by Chip Worthingon, a Rohnert Park pastor attempting to stop construction of the casino and resort hotel west of the city.

Casino recording crucial to suicide - 2004-04-03
It's here on the Cosmos Bridge, merely a glorified walkway erected between the Concorde and Jacques Cartier bridges, that they claim it took place - that about 10:40 a.m. Thursday, a man who doesn't appear on casino surveillance tapes apparently left the Montreal Casino, purportedly threatening to take his own life.

The SQ say the man left the casino, pledging to commit suicide, followed by a casino security guard who attempted to stop him.
