Windsor gamblers head through to Detroit's way amid strike - 2004-04-04
On any other Saturday, Diane Herring would be dropping her money into slots at Casino Windsor.
But the union strike by over 3,000 Casino Windsor staff members temporarily closed the casino Friday and forced Harding to come to MGM Grand Casino. She’s happy to have the choice, but her loyalties lie abroad.

Regular patrons of the Ontario casino are intended to arrive in Detroit to gamble, and Detroit’s three casinos are expecting to permanently win their business.

Massive casino-resort launches today in No. California - 2004-04-04
The major launching of the Cache Creek Casino Resort, the development of what was a bingo hall and casino, takes place this morning in Brooks, Calif., 90 miles from San Francisco and less than an hour north of Sacramento in Yolo County.

The $200 million resort, owned by the Rumsey Band of Wintun Indians, is the first tribal casino with a hotel in Northern California. The 66,000-square-foot casino has 2,000 slots (legal limit), 120 table games and a 1,000-seat bingo hall. It employs 2,300 workers.
