Sky City agreement on Chch Casino steals limelight - 2004-04-05 News of Sky City Entertainment acquiring a 41 percent stake in Christchurch Casino dominated an otherwise regular day's trading on the New Zealand sharemarket today.
At 5pm, the benchmark NZSX-50 gross index was up 3.39 points at 2593.44, while the NZSX-All Capital Index dropped 0.12 points at 875.87.

The Shut Down Of Casino Windsor Costs Millions - 2004-04-05 It is purportedly costing Casino Windsor $1.5 million a day as it stays closed because of a union strike. Over 3,000 union employees walked off the job at 12:01 a.m. Saturday. The casino had temporarily shut its doors to the public at 6 p.m. Friday due to the labor conflict.
Kevin Laforet, Casino Windsor's president and chief executive officer, reported, "Despite our best efforts to reach a fair and workable agreement, we unfortunately find ourselves in this position of having to temporarily close the facility." Read the full story at ClickOnDetroit
