Judge Refuses To Prevent State Action Against KCK Casino - 2004-04-07 A federal judge refused Wednesday to block additional state action against an Indian tribe and its Kansas City, Kan., casino or to push authorities to return property seized when they closed the gambling operation.
The Wyandotte Nation of Oklahoma argued in U.S. District Court that state and local authorities acted wrongly when they closed the tribe's casino last week. The tribe also looked for the return of over a $1 million worth of property, including 150 gambling machines and money taken by state and local officials.
