The Old Folks Poker Game
After raising children and a successful career, Jerry and Elaine moved
into a retirement community in Florida. Jerry, the new kid on the block,
was invited to a boys night poker game on Friday night. Jerry was sure
he won the first hand of the night, when he flashed his cards showing
3 Queens. As Jerry was grabbing the poker chips, George said "Not
so fast, I got 3 Kings." Jerry’ asked to see George's hand, but the
rest of the neighbors told Jerry that this was a gentlemen’s game which
worked on the honor system and there was no need to show your hand due
to mutual trust.
When Jerry got home that night, Elaine asked him how the poker game went.
Jerry said, "Fantastic, after the first hand I never lost again for
the rest of the night."
